Abstract
Spur-winged Plover Vanellus spinosus in Italy: an update. All reports and claims of Spur-winged Lapwing in Italy were considered, including confirmed, dubious or erroneous, historical and recent records. This species is common in captivity and at the same time it is a regular breeding and migrant species in countries not too far from Italy. This situation makes it difficult to assess the origin of the individuals observed in Italy: on the one hand it could be that its natural presence has been underestimated, but on the other hand many observations could instead originate from individuals that escaped captivity. In this paper the Authors discuss these possibilities in the light of the decisions of the Italian Rarity Committee (Commissione Ornitologica Italiana, COI), and on the background of the European situation.

Abstract
The bird community of “Palude Brusà”: results of three years constant effort mist-netting. From October 2017 to July 2020, 57 sessions of constant effort bird mist-netting at were carried out in hygrophilous wood and reeds environment of the Palude Brusà (VR). 1202 captures were recorded in total and 965 birds belonging to 40 species were ringed. The main community parameters have been elaborated in regards to the autumn migration + wintering periods (I) and spring migration + reproductive period (P). Further analyses were performed on the breeding and wintering communities regarding diversity-dominance curves, migration phenology and trophic structure. Considering both the birds captured in periods I and P and those exclusively wintering and nesting, we show that the communities of the hygrophilous wood have greater diversity and evenness values than the reeds communities. The diversity-dominance curves, built on the nesting and wintering communities, confirm the greater degree of diversity and evenness of the hygrophilous wood. In the breeding communities, trans-Saharan migrants prevail in both environments; in the wintering ones, medium-short range migrants prevail. In the reed bed nesting community, insectivorous birds prevail; in that of the forest polyphagous prevail. In the wintering communities polyphagous prevail in both environments. Then species typical of marsh environments were captured, six of which were included in the red list of Italian birds with the status of “vulnerable” (VU) and one considered “critically endangered” (CR). A comparison with previous surveys conducted in the same area reveals a situation of impoverishment of wetland bird species and an increase in species linked to woodland environment.

Sono state effettuate 1202 catture e inanellati 965 uccelli appartenenti a 40 specie.

KEYWORDS: Delichon urbicum, Northern House Martin, Breeding population, Forlì-Cesena Province, Romagna, Italy.

Abstract
A census of House Martin in the village of Portico di Romagna. A census of the breeding population of House Martin Delichon urbicum was conducted from 1999 to 2021, in the village of Portico di Romagna (Central Italy), counting only the occupied nests. The average number of active nests over the 19 census years was 46, with a minimum of 20 in 2007 and 2009, and a maximum of 71 in 2021. Building renovation and direct nest destruction are the two main causes of breeding site abandonment.

Abstract
Woodpeckers management at a school building in Parma (Italy). In an area in the suburbs of Parma, woodpeckers drilled many holes in the facades of a wooden school building (at the start of this project 119 holes were present). From January 29th, 2019, through February 11th, 2020, fortnightly inspections and management actions were carried out, namely, optical devices (corks coated with aluminum foil, cd chains, silver pinwheels) were placed, which were effective in stopping almost completely the drilling activity of the woodpeckers.
