What is CISNIAR?

CISNIAR (Italian Research Group on Nest Boxes) is a non profit organization engaged in studying and conserving nature since 1975. It promotes fauna protection through the installation of nest boxes and feeders and the planting of hedges in parks, gardens and woodlands.

CISNIAR also runs the Museum of Natural History of Marano s/P., where specialized volunteers do research on local fauna and flora, as for example the SOM (Stazione Ornitologica Modenese), a specific section of the Museum dedicated to the study and protection of birds. The research projects, the scientific publications and the membership fees allow the Museum to self-finance its activities and to publish a journal of ornithology that members will receive twice a year. The scientific articles are in Italian, with English summaries. The membership fees for international subscribers is 30€ per year, payable by international money order to: Centro Italiano Studi Nidi Artificiali (CISNIAR) Piazza Matteotti, 28 - 41054 Marano s/P (MO) Italy.
